Old - Live-streaming Basic Instructions

How to turn everything on for Live-streaming

  1. Turn on the camcorder. The button slider on the camcorder itself should already be on so all you have to do is turn it on with the remote that is next to the live-streaming computer.
  2. Turn on the computer. Contact someone on the livestreaming team if you need the password to logon.
  3. Open up the following programs:
  4. OBS - this is the live streaming program
  5. Elgato Stream Deck (in administrative mode) - this is for the stream deck to quickly be able to change scenes in OBS
  6. Voice Meter - this program allows you to listen to the audio in OBS on your headset and have the audio go to the HDMI matrix so the stream can be viewed in other rooms within the church
  7. Optional: Proclaim - this program runs the slides and songs and is used as a backup to the presenter computer. The basic setup is to have this program stream to the small monitor.
  8. In order to get OBS to project to the HDMI matrix so that you can see the service in other rooms within the church you need to right click the screen within OBS display area and choose “Fullscreen Projector (Preview)” and then choose which monitor to project to. See image below. The monitor on the swivel arm that is mounted to the wall is the one you want to project onto. It is showing the same display that is going to the HDMI matrix.

  1. Everything should be setup! Check the live-streaming checklist and check that everything is working. If something is not working check the troubleshooting list below to see if your problem is addressed. If not contact someone on the livestreaming team for assistance.

Troubleshooting

  1. OBS is not receiving input from the Production computer for songs and slides: Check with the person running the presentor computer to see if they are sending a signal to the stream computer. Restart OBS. If you are in the middle of a service you will have to run the slides on Proclaim yourself. OBS is set up for this already. You just have to project from Proclaim onto the small monitor and on the stream deck change which mode you are in (“small monitor mode” or “presentor laptop mode”). You have to toggle the buttons for the Speaker scenes and song scenes as they are separate. You can also try unplugging and replugging in the switch coming to the computer
