Operating Multipurpose Room Equipment

Operating Multipurpose Room Equipment

Video/Image setup

  1. If using the projector, power it on using this remote control
  2. Determine which video signal source you want to display:

    1. To display video from a laptop on the projector we have multiple input options. Connect your laptop to the system in one of these ways:

      1. A 6-ft laptop HDMI cord as part of the A/V equipment stack in the HVAC closet (will need wireless clicker to advance slides)
      2. An HDMI hard-wired connection in the SE corner of the multipurpose room
      3. A wireless HDMI dongle (plugin to both HDMI and USB ports to power the dongle) to support moving around within the multipurpose room
    2. To display a BluRay or DVD in the Multipurpose room, power on the BluRay player that is found in the A/V equipment stack in the HVAC closet and use as normal (point remote at left speaker to control BR player).
    3. To display the feed from the church auditoriumyou do not need to make any connections, but may need to confirm that the correct input is selected on the HDMI switch (see below).
  3. If using a Windows Laptop, be sure your display is in the proper mode. Use the keyboard combination of “Windows Key + P” to switch presentation modes.
  4. If your HDMI video source is not displaying on the screen, check the following:

    1. Confirm that the HDMI switch is on the correct input:

  1. Input 1 = Auditorium Feed

    1. Input 2 = Multipurpose Room SE Corner HDMI cable

      1. Input 3 = Laptop HDMI cable in HVAC closet
      2. Input 4 = Wireless HDMI dongle
      3. Input 5 = Bluray Player
    2. If using the wireless HDMI dongle and the HDMI switch is on Input 4:

      1. Make sure the dongle has power via its USB cable (both the dongle and USB cable must be plugged into your laptop). You should see a white or yellow light on the USB dongle if it is powered
      2. Double-check that your laptop sees the “second screen” output of the HDMI connection. This is in your “Display settings” (or something similar)
      3. If a blinking satellite dish icon is present on the projector, the wireless HDMI dongle is attempting to connect to the receiver. Press the sync button on the end of the dongle
      4. As a last resort, if there is nothing on the screen and the laptop does not see the second screen, grab a chair and unplug/replug the power (smaller) cable from the wireless HDMI receiver located underneath the left speaker
    3. If you have tried all these things and none of these steps work, call Matt Van Zante at (402) 238-1331

Audio Setup

All sound for the Multipurpose room is controlled via the “Multi-Purpose Sound” tablet that is stored in the HVAC closet when not in use. Please be sure to re-attach the charging cable when you are done with the sound tablet.

  • The “MP3 Laptop” channel on the far left controls the volume of any video source. This includes when the screen is being used to display the video feed from the auditorium.
  • A new “Auxiliary Input” source will be added soon for playing audio from smart phones or other audio sources.
  • The “Auditorium” slider on the far right is only to be usedwhen not displaying auditorium video and audio from the auditorium needs to be broadcast in the multipurpose room.

Troubleshooting

Sometimes the tablet gets disconnected from the mixing unit. To reconnect the tablet please do the following:

  1. Make sure the “Mixing Station” app has been loaded.
  2. If you’re in the app but not on the sliders screen, first look for a “back” arrow in the top left corner and tap that to see if it will take you back to the sliders screen.
  3. If that doesn’t work, look for the “Search” button in the app and tap that. Let the app search for the mixing unit.
  4. An “XR18” mixing unit should show up as one of the search results. Tap that box.
  5. After a short loading screen you should be returned to the sliders screen and can control volumes from there.
